A limited edition book charting the final ever journey of the much-loved Giants is going on sale on Friday (23 November).
In the Hearts of Giants chronicles the Liverpool’s Dream spectacular which took over the city streets and Wirral for four days in October.
Thought to be the biggest ever event staged in Liverpool, the stunning 104 page glossy book will re-live the adventures of the Giant, the Little Boy Giant, Xolo and the Little Girl Giant, who all wowed an audience of around 1.3million people from 4-7 October.
More than 3,000 stand-out images were received within days of a call-out urging people to send in their best shots of the event. After an intense whittling down process, 73 lucky amateur ‘toggies’ have had their images published along with six professional photographers.
The souvenir contains 199 beautiful images in total and costs £9.99
Deputy Mayor and cabinet member for culture, tourism and events, Councillor Wendy Simon, said:
“Liverpool’s Dream was an incredible moment in this city’s history. More than six weeks on, and people are still talking to me about the Giants and how proud they are of this city for its ability and commitment to staging events of this scale.
“It captured the hearts and imaginations of young and old, and it was an honour for both the city and for Royal de Luxe to stage their final ever Giants saga here.
“Within hours of the team asking for photo contributions, hundreds had flooded the mailbox, all of which were an incredible reminder of an unforgettable few days.
“The souvenir will undoubtedly bring back some wonderful memories and it will make the perfect stocking filler this Christmas for Giants fans across the world.”
