This is a big event, and Liverpool City Council's Culture Liverpool team want to make sure as many people as possible get involved in the run up, during and after the show.
They are working in partnership with other council teams including the school improvement service along with a number of external organisations such as National Museums Liverpool, and Liverpool Primary Care Trust. Working together means an education and participation programme can be delivered which aims to bring together the entire city in memory of the events which took place on 15 April 1912.
The Out of the Blue Festival is a six months programme of arts and cultural events taking place in and around Everton Park. As part of the Sea Odyssey and Launching the Out of the Blue 2012 Programme, West Everton Community Council & Friends of Everton Park invite members of the community and visitors to the top of the park for ‘Picnic in the Park’ to welcome the girl to our community.

Building up to this exciting event the Writers Project will be working with the children from the West Everton Community Council Playscheme to produce creative writing pieces around the theme of the Titanic. WECC in partnership with Hope Street and Suitcase Ensemble will be delivering creative workshop sessions exploring the local legend of ‘Spring-Heeled Jack through Storytelling, music and art. Work produced from the playscheme and workshops will be given to girl as she sleeps to welcome her to the Everton community.
